How Much does a Wedding Cost? Wedding Budget Questions Answered

January 21, 2017

How Much Does a wedding Cost? The number 1 questions I get from all of my bride and grooms is how much does a Wedding Cost? Even if they have already set froth a budget it is still my number 1 question from all couples. Why is this the number 1 question from all couples? Because the budget is the most important aspect of any wedding.

Budget precedes any of the venues, food, dress (yes ladies even the dress), décor, floral of any wedding. Everything comes down to budget.  When meeting with couples I make sure we get the money question out of the way.  For some reason it’s the hardest question for all couples to answer.  Either they are embarrassed of the budget, which no one should be embarrassed, or they just flat out have no idea how much they should be spending.

These days most couples are paying for there own weddings. The Brides Parents or Grooms parents definitely still contribute, but the couples really do pay for a lot of the wedding themselves. That is why this is the number 1 question all of our couples ask.

Please remember every couple is different and as a wedding planner we can custom tailor your budgets to fit your needs.  This should give you a guide as to how much weddings cost depending on your needs. If you’re looking to have a lavish black-tie wedding, expect to pay from $75,000.00-110,000.00.  If you’re looking to have a wedding that is one big bash, in a more creative space, you’re looking at spending $50,000-65,000.00.  If you already have a venue like a friends or parents home to have your wedding at you’re looking at spending $25,000-30,000.00 on your wedding day.

Because this is such a testy topic for most couples, that is why it is the number 1 question.  Give your planner all of your ideas so they can best steer you in the direction of what will work and what won’t.

But the best advice I can give on how much a wedding is going to cost is do what is comfortable for you.  Don’t go over board, a wedding is all about infusing your love for each other in every detail.  If you pick the right planner, no matter your budget your wedding will be the day of your dreams.  Remember as wedding planners we do this for a living we can make some pretty amazing things happen! Also it pays to be nice to all of your vendors, you may get a surprise or two you weren’t expecting the day of.

BEHIND THE Wedding

MEET Victoria

Growing up, my mother had a dinner party for just about everything. She would make name cards, put out her best china, let me help her pick flowers, and always cook something spectacular. She taught me, “Presentation is everything.” Long-story-short, the attention to detail, organization and joy that give me my knack for event-planning are in my blood (because truly, I got it from my Mama). My whole life I’ve had a passion for all the elements that make events experiences. Beyond that, I’ve always been told that I throw a really effing fun party, so I decided to leave my career in hospitality and pursue event-planning for real.

What I’m told draws many of my clients to me is my eye for the details, understanding of who they are, and calm attitude even when things get crazy. What keeps me so fulfilled is my relationships with my clients themselves. Nothing makes me happier than working with a couple to make a vision come to life and genuinely having fun all along the way.

Thanks for learning a little bit about me; I look forward to learning a little bit about you!
