Do Miami Like a Local: Miami Restaurants

April 25, 2017

Last week we did a baby shower for a very special client in MIAMI!  Now that we are back and have had time to re-cap I wanted to share an insiders guide to Miami! As many of you know, I lived and worked in Miami for over 6 years… Miami will always have a special place in my heart.  It’s were I met my husband, got married, fell in love with weddings, and decided to start this wedding planning and design company! So when my friends or clients go to Miami they always ask.. where should I eat?  Where should I stay? What should I do? Well we have made you a guide! Today we are going to talk about Miami restaurants, because a girl LOVES to EAT!

My first stop for Miami Restaurants  is ALWAYS MACALUSO’S!!! PEOPLE GO HERE IF YOU ARE IN MIAMI! It is a delicious Italian restaurant. Everything is fresh and the chef is constantly changing what is available. It’s so fresh, the servers actually verbally dictate the menu. My two favorite things on the menu, are the Vito Salad, and dessert the Birthday Cake, it’s white cake with sprinkle frosting, it’s a slice of heaven. I’ve been told this is also Kim Kardashians favorite dessert.. hey if it’s good enough for Mrs. West it’s good enough for me!  The ricotta cheese cake is also a close third!

The Next Stop is Pubbelly Sushi, which is on Purdy Avenue.  It’s a total local spot for sushi and it’s the best! They have a Butter Krab roll that is amazing, it comes with warm drawn butter for you to dip your roll in, absolute perfection. The other roll I always get is the Yellow Tail Roll, talk about delicious! This roll has truffle Yuzu, it will change your life.

Third Stop is in the Design District, and it’s the most beautiful Greek restaurant called Mandolin. This is the best Greek Restaurant in Miami  Make sure you go on a nice night because its outdoors, you will feel like you are in Greece! All white with blue accents and candle lit! I typically get the Greek Sampler and the Moussaka.  If you don’t know what Moussaka is, it’s the Greek version of lasagna, what can be better than that?

Some of my other favorite places to eat are:

Italian: Cafe Martorano, Prime Italian

Steak: Prime 112, Edge-Four Seasons Miami

Tapas: Sugar Cane

Sushi/Asian: Makoto, Zuma, Komodo, Nobu Miami

BEHIND THE Wedding

MEET Victoria

Growing up, my mother had a dinner party for just about everything. She would make name cards, put out her best china, let me help her pick flowers, and always cook something spectacular. She taught me, “Presentation is everything.” Long-story-short, the attention to detail, organization and joy that give me my knack for event-planning are in my blood (because truly, I got it from my Mama). My whole life I’ve had a passion for all the elements that make events experiences. Beyond that, I’ve always been told that I throw a really effing fun party, so I decided to leave my career in hospitality and pursue event-planning for real.

What I’m told draws many of my clients to me is my eye for the details, understanding of who they are, and calm attitude even when things get crazy. What keeps me so fulfilled is my relationships with my clients themselves. Nothing makes me happier than working with a couple to make a vision come to life and genuinely having fun all along the way.

Thanks for learning a little bit about me; I look forward to learning a little bit about you!
