The Drink of the Summer: Frosé

May 31, 2017

I love to cook and entertain, and one thing I want to master this summer is making good cocktails for when all my besties are done being pregnant! I already make a mean Mojito after working at a Mexican restaurant all throughout High School and College. We actually made the best in town! The secret ingredient sprite 🙂 So this summer I decided I needed to learn a new trick and the verdict is in Frosé is the ultimate drink this summer. Its a cool mix of Rosé, Strawberries and Lemon blended into an adult slushy! I mean what’s better to make on these hot summer days (it’s at least 10 degrees hotter in the Valley than the rest of LA) then to make Frosé!

I decided to take my Memorial Day Sunday and learn. Many of you followed along in my instagram story. I am so glad  I took the time to learn becasue this is going to be a summertime staple at Brunches, BBQs, and everything in between! Oh and did I mention its husband approved 🙂 He’s always the taste tester, and he’s very opinionated.

So here without further delay here is the recipe thanks to Bon Appétit!

Ingredients

1 750 ml Bottle of Dry Rosé

1/2 Cup of Sugar

8 Ounces of Stawberries (about 1/2 Cup) plus a few for Garnish

2 1/2 Ounces of Fresh Lemon Juice  (about 2 whole lemons juiced)

Process

  1. 1. Pour Rosé into 1 ice tray and let freeze for 6 hours in freezer, because this is alcohol it won’t freeze completely but thats ok, if it still has a watery constancy don’t be alarmed.

2. Next Juice your lemons and set aside, then cut up your strawberries into quarters.

3. Bring 1/2 cup of water to a Boil, once your water has come to a boil add 1/2 cup of sugar and stir until sugar has dissolved. Turn off heat and add strawberries to the sugar water and let strawberries infuse for30 minutes. (you are making strawberry infused simple syrup go you!) Then drain the simple syrup through a fine-mesh sieve.

4. In a blender combine, frozen Rosé, lemon juice, simple syrup and ice until smooth, pour into your favorite wine glass and enjoy!

BEHIND THE Wedding

MEET Victoria

Growing up, my mother had a dinner party for just about everything. She would make name cards, put out her best china, let me help her pick flowers, and always cook something spectacular. She taught me, “Presentation is everything.” Long-story-short, the attention to detail, organization and joy that give me my knack for event-planning are in my blood (because truly, I got it from my Mama). My whole life I’ve had a passion for all the elements that make events experiences. Beyond that, I’ve always been told that I throw a really effing fun party, so I decided to leave my career in hospitality and pursue event-planning for real.

What I’m told draws many of my clients to me is my eye for the details, understanding of who they are, and calm attitude even when things get crazy. What keeps me so fulfilled is my relationships with my clients themselves. Nothing makes me happier than working with a couple to make a vision come to life and genuinely having fun all along the way.

Thanks for learning a little bit about me; I look forward to learning a little bit about you!
