If your blog post's featured images are fairly low resolution, you may want to delete the top image canvas. Your blog will still look gorgeous, but the top banner section looks best when you upload an image that's 2500px on the long side. You can also use our fave TinyJpeg to make them small so your blog posts still load quickly!

You’re Engaged – 3 Things You Should do Right Away!

September 19, 2017

You’re Engaged, it happened, you can’t stop looking at your ring! But now what should you do, what are the next steps after you called everyone in your phone book? Being Engaged is such a fun time and really a time that should be enjoyed to its fullest. So girl relax, I’ve got you the 3 three things you should do when you’re first engaged! It’s a given that you hire a wedding planner, but since you already know that here are the next 3 things you should do to make sure your wedding planning is fun and smooth!

1. celebrate
  1. Celebrate!!! YES GO CELEBRATE Pop that bottle of champagne, rose, wine, or sparkling water and celebrate with your fiancé! Chances are they have been stressed to the max about how, when and where they would pop the question, so now that it’s done, you NEED to celebrate. Have a fabulous dinner out just the two of you, or go and have a big engagement party with both of your families.  However, you two celebrate do it and enjoy every minute!
2. Pick your wedding date
  1. Now that you have celebrated sit down, just the two of you, and decided on an ideal wedding date. That might be in 6 months, that might be in 2 years, but sit down and be honest about how long you both need to prepare to get married. There are no set rules for how long you need to be engaged but the typical couple is engaged for at least a year before they say “I Do.”
3. Create your budget
  1. Create a Budget, no matter who is paying for the wedding you need to set a budget that is realistic for all parties involved. You don’t want to make anyone feel funny and you, yourself don’t want to feel funny or even worse resent people. Know that setting the budget is hard for EVERY couple and EVERY family.  But in order to plan your wedding and have fun doing so, you need to know your budget before you book anything.  When you hire a Wedding Planner they can help you with budget creation and give you real advice on the costs that are involved in a wedding.

So now that you have these three things out of the way, celebrating, picking a date, and working out the budget, it’s time to start planning your EPIC day! Need help planning your wedding day email us, we are ready to help! Info@victoriaannevents.com

BEHIND THE Wedding

MEET Victoria

Growing up, my mother had a dinner party for just about everything. She would make name cards, put out her best china, let me help her pick flowers, and always cook something spectacular. She taught me, “Presentation is everything.” Long-story-short, the attention to detail, organization and joy that give me my knack for event-planning are in my blood (because truly, I got it from my Mama). My whole life I’ve had a passion for all the elements that make events experiences. Beyond that, I’ve always been told that I throw a really effing fun party, so I decided to leave my career in hospitality and pursue event-planning for real.

What I’m told draws many of my clients to me is my eye for the details, understanding of who they are, and calm attitude even when things get crazy. What keeps me so fulfilled is my relationships with my clients themselves. Nothing makes me happier than working with a couple to make a vision come to life and genuinely having fun all along the way.

Thanks for learning a little bit about me; I look forward to learning a little bit about you!
