Avoid Wedding Stress During the Holidays

November 21, 2016

Wedding planning can be stressful for any couple.  If you are planning your wedding yourself, lets jut say the planning stress is real! Getting through the holidays while planning with no stress is close to impossible.  We hope these tips can help you get through the holiday season stress free! Not to mention the wedding planning process stress free!

Stress Free Planning

  1. Hire a Planner

We have said it once, and we will say it again hire a planner! You may think planning your own wedding is glamorous and fun, and so easy! But it really isn’t. If you have a full time job, family and commitments, you need a planner. Weddings have so many moving parts you need a professional by your side.  This will keep the stress levels and fights to a low.

  1. Plan Ahead

Make a plan and stick to it! Set realistic deadlines. Create a calendar dedicated to your wedding so you can stay on track. Book your most important vendors at the beginning.  Booking vendors early takes a lot of stress off during the planning.

  1. Take time for yourself

Take a break from planning, don’t let the wedding take over your life. I suggest to all couples to pick a few days a week they aren’t going to talk about the wedding.  It’s easy to get lost in the planning. Don’t forget all of the fun things you and your fiancé did together before the wedding planning began.  Have a movie night, take a walk in your favorite park, anything that has nothing to do with planning.

  1. Give people jobs

Lots of couples want to control the wedding, but if someone wants to help let them! Let them be in charge of little things. Allow people to take on tasks that you don’t want to do. It makes them feel special and it takes a lot of stress off of you.

  1. Take a Wedding Moon

With the holidays you might not be able to find the time to do this.  But we suggest this to couples.  It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but taking a vacation or staycation (vacation in your own town), can really reconnect you and your fiancé during the planning stages.  Look for bed and breakfasts around your city, and enjoy the company of each other.

BEHIND THE Wedding

MEET Victoria

Growing up, my mother had a dinner party for just about everything. She would make name cards, put out her best china, let me help her pick flowers, and always cook something spectacular. She taught me, “Presentation is everything.” Long-story-short, the attention to detail, organization and joy that give me my knack for event-planning are in my blood (because truly, I got it from my Mama). My whole life I’ve had a passion for all the elements that make events experiences. Beyond that, I’ve always been told that I throw a really effing fun party, so I decided to leave my career in hospitality and pursue event-planning for real.

What I’m told draws many of my clients to me is my eye for the details, understanding of who they are, and calm attitude even when things get crazy. What keeps me so fulfilled is my relationships with my clients themselves. Nothing makes me happier than working with a couple to make a vision come to life and genuinely having fun all along the way.

Thanks for learning a little bit about me; I look forward to learning a little bit about you!
