If your blog post's featured images are fairly low resolution, you may want to delete the top image canvas. Your blog will still look gorgeous, but the top banner section looks best when you upload an image that's 2500px on the long side. You can also use our fave TinyJpeg to make them small so your blog posts still load quickly!

DAY 8: CREATE A WEDDING MOOD BOARD

Now it’s time to pin away! Haha, no but really start collecting inspiration from all over.  I love mood boards, and having one for your wedding is essential to creating a cohesive wedding day! This will also allow you to zero in on the right wedding vendors to entrust your special day with.

6 Essentials to Creating the Perfect Wedding Mood Board.

  1. Colors: Start with the colors you want to see on your wedding day first, this will help in finding the perfect pictures of inspiration
  2. Fonts: You won’t believe how many font types are used in a wedding day, and having a clear vision of styles of fonts you like will be very helpful when picking all of your wedding Stationery.  I love to use Creative Market to find amazing font inspiration.
  3. Flowers: Pick photos of the types of flowers you would like to see at your wedding.  Depending on the types, you might see a lush wedding florals coming together or you might see a more minimalistic approach. Whatever your vibe is gather some inspiration to pick the perfect Wedding Florals for you.
  4. Textures: I love to use textures in my mood boards, some of my go-to’s are jute, velvets, and plaster.  These textures can be used in a variety of ways. For example a jute runner for the aisle or even velvet lines or napkins! Whatever textures you are drawn to select images of these, you never know where it will lead you.
  5. Interior Design: Gather images of living spaces you like.  Places that you would feel most comfortable in. If you love more traditional interiors, then maybe your wedding venue you will fall in love with would be a more historical home. If you’re drawn to more beach home vibes (think Serena & Lilly), maybe you want to find a wedding venue that has great indoor outdoor space.
  6. Fashion: Gather images of fashion that most represent what you envion wearing on your wedding day.  This will keep you inline with the type of ceremony space you choose and your wedding venue.

Keeping to these 6 essentials will make sure you’re planning a wedding that is one of a kind to you and your finance.  It’s great to look at other weddings to gather inspiration, but adding in these elements will help you to creat a day that is really all your own!

BEHIND THE Wedding

MEET Victoria

Growing up, my mother had a dinner party for just about everything. She would make name cards, put out her best china, let me help her pick flowers, and always cook something spectacular. She taught me, “Presentation is everything.” Long-story-short, the attention to detail, organization and joy that give me my knack for event-planning are in my blood (because truly, I got it from my Mama). My whole life I’ve had a passion for all the elements that make events experiences. Beyond that, I’ve always been told that I throw a really effing fun party, so I decided to leave my career in hospitality and pursue event-planning for real.

What I’m told draws many of my clients to me is my eye for the details, understanding of who they are, and calm attitude even when things get crazy. What keeps me so fulfilled is my relationships with my clients themselves. Nothing makes me happier than working with a couple to make a vision come to life and genuinely having fun all along the way.

Thanks for learning a little bit about me; I look forward to learning a little bit about you!
